ABOUT THE TRIAL

Trial Site: The Platform Ireland site will be live for the duration of its trial for no more than twelve weeks. During this period we are aiming to establish the viability and necessity for Platform Ireland.  This can only really be determined by you so we are asking for your help.  To assist the process, we invite you to get involved - engage, complain (not too much), suggest ideas and submit content.  We love audiovisual material which includes anything that moves and has sound. We also love text based content but would encourage the supply of high quality images to accompany text-based content.   Maybe you have press release? Chapters from a forthcoming book? Samples of a film script or play? Critical review content? We would be delighted to upload for the trial.  There are a few rules. For information on how to send in content or any other queries please email client-assist@platformireland.ie

Process of the Trial: To date forty leading arts organisations have worked with Platform Ireland in providing sample content for the trial site. In order to view this content click on the links page for a list of all the organisations which have partnered with us.   Under each section there is content to suit all tastes ranging from interviews and promotional material to performances including a full-scale three-hour opera. Content will also be uploaded on an ongoing basis throughout the trial.   Arts Content Audit  Platform Ireland is also undertaking the first ever audit of all arts related film and video produced in Ireland over the last decade. The objective of this audit is to quantify the film and video content currently available for internet broadcast and assess the huge potential for expansion. This will include “in house” and external productions.  For full information about the audit and links to the questionnaires  please click on the AUDIT link at the top of the page.

Surveys Surveys: During the trial, we will be circulating short questionnaires to get your feedback on the site. There will be three in total once every two weeks. We will endeavour to respond immediately to ideas and suggestions. Your input is critical in shaping the site and deciding on future potential. Please spread the word in asking people to sign up and give an opinion.  If you want to see for yourself what we are trying to do, simply register your name and a password and start exploring.
